PLOT (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, store, protect, and use information when you interact with our website, request early access, and participate in the PLOT exploratory beta.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third-party data brokers or advertisers.
All early-access submissions, email credentials, and reserved handles are encrypted in transit and at rest.
You can request full export or permanent deletion of your waitlist data at any moment with one email.
1. Information We Collect
During this pre-launch and early-access period, we deliberately minimize the data we gather:
- Waitlist & Reservation Details: When you reserve your handle, we collect your desired pseudonym (e.g.
@maya) and your email address. - Survey Responses & Creative Interests: If you voluntarily participate in creative surveys or specify what kind of stories you make, we store those responses to match you with appropriate beta cohorts.
- Technical & Diagnostic Data: Standard server logs, IP addresses, browser types, language preferences, and referral parameters (e.g., if you were referred by another user’s handle).
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is exclusively utilized to advance the product hypothesis and facilitate early access:
- To hold and reserve your requested username on the PLOT network.
- To notify you when your cohort is granted beta access and deliver login credentials.
- To calculate your priority queue position and apply friend-referral bonuses.
- To prevent automated bot abuse, fake handle hoarding, and platform sabotage.
- To conduct direct product feedback conversations (only if you opt in).
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use minimal cookies and browser local storage solely for essential operational functionality—such as remembering whether you have acknowledged our privacy banner and storing your queue reference number so you can check back without re-entering your email. We do not employ third-party tracking pixels for behavioral ad retargeting.
4. Data Retention and Your Rights
Regardless of your geographic location, we respect core GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy principles:
- Right to Access: You may request a machine-readable copy of any personal data associated with your email address.
- Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): You may at any point request the permanent deletion of your email, survey entries, and reserved handle from our records.
- Right to Rectification: If you made a typo in your handle or email during registration, notify us to correct it.
5. Children’s Privacy
PLOT is strictly designed for individuals aged 13 and older (or 16 in certain European jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under these age thresholds. If we discover that a minor under the minimum legal age has registered, we will immediately purge the record.
