Terms of Service
Welcome to PLOT. By accessing our website, reserving a handle, or participating in our early-access cohorts, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service.
Early Access & Experimental Nature
PLOT is an early-stage social hypothesis and pre-release exploratory product. Features, user interfaces, branching mechanisms, and storage architectures may iterate rapidly, experience maintenance periods, or change based on community testing feedback.
1. Handle Reservation & Pseudonym Policy
When you submit your chosen handle (e.g., joinplot.online/@yourname) through our reservation interface:
- Good Faith Reservation: Handles are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis for authentic personal and creator use.
- No Squatting or Commercial Trading: You may not register handles for the primary purpose of domain squatting, trademark extortion, or reselling to third parties. PLOT reserves the right to reclaim any handle registered in bad faith.
- Trademark Protection: If you are a recognized brand or trademark holder, you may submit evidence to
legal@plot.socialto request allocation of your verified identifier. - Impersonation & Deceptive Names: Handles that deliberately mimic public figures, institutions, or other creators to deceive users will be revoked immediately.
2. Intellectual Property & Co-Creation Licensing
PLOT explores a unique collaborative model (“posts as unfinished objects”). To make multiplayer creation possible, our licensing model functions as follows:
- You Own Your Contributions: You retain all copyright and moral ownership of any original photographs, videos, audio, text, or illustrations you submit to PLOT.
- Collaborative License: When you choose to attach your media or narrative branch to another user’s seed (such as adding your vacation clip to a shared Goa trip post), you grant that specific collaborative thread and PLOT a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to render, display, and stream your contribution as part of the unified story.
- Branching & Remixing: Collaborators who branch off an ongoing story create new derivative paths. You agree that your contribution may remain visible in earlier ancestor nodes of that story tree.
3. Acceptable Use & Code of Conduct
PLOT is built on mutual respect and creative camaraderie. You agree that you will not:
- Upload non-consensual imagery, sexually explicit media, violence, or hate speech.
- Harass, stalk, dox, or intimidate any creator or collaborator.
- Deploy automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to flood story threads with spam or artificial engagement.
- Reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the underlying source code of our canvas visualizers without explicit authorization.
4. Termination & Account Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your early-access participation, release your reserved handle, or deny platform entry if you breach these Terms or our Community Guidelines. You may terminate your participation at any time by requesting deletion of your record.
5. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
PLOT is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind. Under no circumstances shall PLOT Studio Inc., its founders, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to access the experimental services.
